There’s something special about MIXING TRADITION WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH—that’s really at the heart of what I do at SMART ALEX SIGNS HAND PAINTED SIGN COMPANY.
I’ve been LETTERING ON SAWS SINCE 2013, and it’s a craft that’s stayed with me ever since I first picked it up. I still remember painting on them as a student at LA TRADE TECH, figuring things out BRUSH STROKE BY BRUSH STROKE, learning how to balance precision with personality.
Back then, it was about practice and curiosity. Now, it’s about REFINEMENT, EXPERIENCE, and keeping that same sense of originality alive in every piece.
Saws have this RAW, INDUSTRIAL CHARACTER that makes them the perfect canvas. Each one tells a different story depending on the lettering style, the layout, and the message it carries. NO TWO EVER COME OUT EXACTLY THE SAME—and that’s the point.
This one is my NEW FAVORITE. It captures everything I’ve come to love about the process: CLEAN LINES, STRONG COMPOSITION, and that unmistakable HAND-PAINTED FEEL you just can’t replicate any other way.
