PREREQUISITE 2ND SEMESTER
Instruction covers the use of Specialized Tools and Materials used to produce Window Signs using 1shot Lettering Enamel. Training includes painting on Exterior and Reverse Windows. In addition, students will paint a Temporary Splash Window.
Lunch 11:30am-12:15pm.
$800 total for 8-Weeks.

At SMART ALEX SIGNS, students learn specialized tools and materials for creating professional window signs with 1 Shot Lettering Enamel, guided by Sign Instructor Alex Kurakake – LA Trade Tech Sign Alumni.
At SMART ALEX SIGNS, students train with Sign Instructor Alex Kurakake – LA Trade Tech Sign Alumni, practicing exterior and reverse window painting and creating temporary splash windows.
SMART ALEX SIGNS presents the next step in traditional sign painting instruction with Sign Instructor Alex Kurakake – LA Trade Tech Sign Alumni. The 2nd semester 8-week sign painting course covers the tools, materials, and techniques used to create professional outdoor signs with 1-Shot Lettering Enamel.
Under SMART ALEX SIGNS and Sign Instructor Alex Kurakake – LA Trade Tech Sign Alumni, students will learn Sign Layout & Design, Blending, Convex/Beveled Letters, and Faux Marble, applying these skills to create a 2' x 3' plywood final project.
Students at SMART ALEX SIGNS, guided by Alex Kurakake – LA Trade Tech Sign Alumni, will practice traditional sign painting on plywood and aluminum substrates. Students will create a 2' x 3' plywood sign as their final hands-on project.
PHOTO: Sign Painting Instructor Alex Kurakake guides students through a variety of lettering styles and alphabets. Students practice proper letterforms, proportions, spacing, and consistency while developing the foundational skills needed to create clean, balanced, and professional hand-painted lettering.

Sign Painting Students of Alex Kurakake at Smart Alex Signs learn how lettering, spacing, proportions, and composition work together to create balanced, professional sign layouts.
Our students practice essential brush strokes, movement, and control using Tempera Paint and Sable Brushes. These hands-on exercises help build the precision and confidence needed for more advanced sign-painting techniques.
Students build confidence in lettering, layout, brush control, and craftsmanship through hands-on sign painting exercises.
