Specialized Tools and Materials for Window Signs
The 3rd Semester course provides instruction in the use of specialized tools and materials used to produce window signs using 1 Shot Lettering Enamel.

Students can develop their understanding of how traditional sign painting materials are used to create lettering and graphics on glass surfaces. Working directly with the materials gives students an opportunity to practice techniques in a hands-on learning environment.
Exterior Window Sign Painting Training
An important part of the course is exterior window painting. Students will practice techniques for applying lettering and designs to exterior-facing windows while learning how traditional sign painting materials are handled. This type of training can help students understand the preparation, application, lettering, and finishing techniques involved in creating hand-painted window signs.
Reverse Window Sign Painting

The course also includes training in reverse window painting. Reverse glass sign painting requires students to understand how the image is constructed from the opposite side of the glass. This technique is an important part of traditional sign painting and provides students with practical experience working with window surfaces and lettering enamel.
Temporary Splash Window Painting
Students will also have the opportunity to paint a Temporary Splash Window as part of their hands-on training. This exercise allows students to work with temporary window graphics while practicing layout, lettering, paint application, and other techniques associated with hand-painted window signage.

The 2nd Semester course was held from October 28, 2026 through December 16, 2026, providing students with the foundational hands-on experience needed to advance into the next level of sign painting instruction.

The 2nd Semester workshop focused on the tools and materials used to produce outdoor signs with 1 Shot Lettering Enamel. Students worked with a variety of sign substrates, including plywood and aluminum, while developing practical skills in traditional sign painting.
Instruction emphasized important techniques including Sign Layout & Design, Blending, Convex and Beveled Letters, and Faux Marble. Students also had the opportunity to apply these techniques to a hands-on final project, producing a 2' x 3' plywood sign.
